Idi Vidi means "go and see" in the Macedonian language. Here are Vesna's translations of the lyrics...
Poubavo devoj?e 1. Poubavo devojce * listen to track *
Love song – celebrating the beauty of a Macedonian girl

She is like flowers from the meadow,
When she sings, she out-sings the nightingale,
When she dances it makes your heart dance,
There is no star more beautiful than her eyes, if it were night she would make it day,
When she lets her hair down she is more beautiful than a fairy.
Is there a more beautiful girl in the world? No there isn’t!

Jovano 2. Jovano * listen to track *
Love song

She is washing clothes in the river Vardar looking up the mountain,
Her mother wouldn’t let her be with him.
He is waiting for her to come to his home, but she is not coming.

Snošti sakav da ti dojdam 3. Snošti sakav da ti dojdam
Love song

Last night I wanted to come to you,
For that sweet dinner,
But dew fell.
What kind of knight are you if you are afraid of dew?
So afraid you didn’t come to me.

Ajde ke te prašam 4. Ajde ke te prašam
Disaster song, forces of nature taking lives - flood

Girl is calling to the water spirit
Asking her if the murky river Vardar is flowing,
Yes it is flowing and it is wild with white froth
Bringing the bodies of three young shepherds.

Bitola 5. Bitola * listen to track *
Love for birthplace

Bitola, where I was born, I love
I’ve been through many towns but didn’t find one like you
Is there anybody who can say farewell to you without tears in their eyes.
Bitola, my birthplace I love you from my heart
Bitola my birthplace, I love you, I sing for you.

A bre ludo adžamija 6. A bre ludo adžamija
Love song

Don’t lie to me, you crazy boy,
You promised to buy me a silver waistcoat,
You promised to buy me a golden ring.
You were playing with my hair, you loved my body.

Navali se Šar planina 7. Navali se Šar planina

Disaster song, natural forces take lives – this time in an avalanche
Three shepherds are begging the Šar mountain to spare their lives, each of them saying that they have wife, brother or mother who will mourn them.

Podigni si bre neveste 8. Podigni si bre neveste
Love song

It is her wedding, he wants her to lift the bride’s veil so he can se her face,
Her eyes, her mouth.
She says there is no point as she has been sold to somebody else by her greedy parents
Her father took 20 golden coins, and mother took a black waistcoat in exchange for her.

Ne si go prodavaj Koljo 9. Ne si go prodavaj Koljo
Love song

Don't waste your land, Koljo, my mother wouldn’t let me marry you.
As much as land is important to you, that much my pride is important to me.
My mother wouldn’t let me marry you because you are a drunkard.
If she doesn’t let me, I’ll come on my own to take you.
You are going from pub to pub, not coming home to sleep.

Kalež bre An?o 10. Kalež bre Anjo
Love song

Listen, listen to me, beautiful dark-haired Ando.
Listen to my music
Take my Turkish religion and you will sit on silk cushions and count golden money.
I am listening to you but I don’t understand Turkish.

More sokol pie 11. More sokol pie * listen to track *
The tragic death of a hero

A falcon drinks water from the Vardar.
Oh Jana, white-throated Jana.
Oh falcon, hero's bird, have you not seen a hero go past?
The hero with nine angry wounds, all from bullets,
The tenth wound stabbed with a knife.
